New Counting Crows: Don’t Bother
I’m doing my best to like the Counting Crows’ latest album, Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings but I can’t do. The music and lyrics are disjointed at best. It’s like they threw some songs together in an hour and slapped them on an album. Sadly, this is not the Counting Crows that fans know and love. This is one album I regret purchasing.

Oh I beg to differ – the Saturday Nights tracks are great Rain King/Mr. Jones-ish type songs that are good to just turn up and listen to while driving. The Sunday Mornings tracks are a little too slow for my tastes, but if you’re in the mood for a Raining in Baltimore type song, they’re perfect. My favorite tracks are Insignificant and When I Dream of Michaelangelo.
Now the new Jack Johnson – I was a little disappointed in that. I liked his last one (the one with Banana Pancakes) a lot better.
