What a great weekend in DC
So this post is more for my records than anything else but boy, I had a great weekend!
Friday PM – Had delicious dinner with good friends at the new Busboys & Poets at 5th and K – Washington, DC.
Saturday AM – Walked in Washington’s Alzheimer’s Memory Walk as part of the Booz Allen Hamilton team. We had over 50 people walk with us and raised over $10,000 for Alzheimer’s research.
Saturday PM – Had drinks in Old Town Alexandria with friends and took a water taxi over to National Harbor to visit the new Gaylord National hotel. This place is awesome! I felt like I was on vacation. The Gaylord is like a city in and of itself. Of course I had to stop at the Cake Love for a coffee cupcake. I was very impressed overall with the development except there needs to be more bars and shops opened up. I was a little disappointed that most of the restaurants are national chains so I hope they get some more local places to open up. I will definitely return for the Christmas season…I spied an employee getting out a Santa!
Sunday PM – Had a wine tasting and lunch at Fox Meadow Winery, my favorite winery (outside of Charlottesville). It was the perfect fall day, crisp and cool but the sun warmed the skin.
